Favarger & Cie.Electric master clock

Ref: 1067

Very rare electric master clock by Favarger & Cie dating from the early 2othC in an oak case that has glazed doors for the dial and pendulum. The beautifully made case “lifts off” to allow access to the movement and wiring.

The clock is in extremely fine condition and shows little signs of wear. The movement is engraved and numbered: Favarger & Cie Successrs de Hipp Neuchatel Suisse 23128. The clock runs off a 6V DC supply (either a mains transformer or battery) and has the famous Hipp-toggle mechanism. It gives alternating polarity one minute pulses for running slave clocks.

The dial has an outer track of black (12) roman numerals with inner red (24) for the hours with inset seconds.
