Mahogany 1/2second wall regulator by Hawleys

Ref: 1030

Mahogany wall mounted regulator of small size with ½ second mercury compensated pendulum by Hawleys clockmaker to the King, High Holborn 1760-1862.

Flame mahogany arched top case with carved base and glazed full length door. The substantial, rectangular movement has a fusee and chain, 4 bulbous pillars, an inverted dead beat escapement with large 60 tooth escape wheel and Harrison’s maintaining power.

The precision half second pendulum has roller suspension and a diminutive mercury in glass jar bob.

The beautifully clear regulator format dial is enamelled, a feature I have not seen before on an English regulator.

Being a half second regulator this clock is a very practical size and will fit on most walls where space is at a premium.
